Something new

Went to Barnstable today and found a rather nice shop

http://www.furnituremagpie.com/

Not only do they sell a lovely mix of upcycled furniture, they also sell the paint to do it with and very eco friendly it is too…and no primer required 🙂

There was a painted dining chair in the shop which is exactly the same as one I picked up at the local recycling centre recently, so I just had to buy some paint. Just got to find the time to do it!

Think it might be something that will have to wait for the Winter, got to get on with more crochet first 🙂

Ooohhh, good ideas

Never heard of arm knitting before but now I have, gotta try it!! Just found tutorial on this fab website, this lady has great ideas. If you need inspiration, check out Flax and Twine 🙂

Also just come across this site, no crafting but lots of tasty recipes

Though I am not vegan, I am vegetarian (for more than half my life now) and want to cut out dairy, maybe this will get me on the right track. Though veggie/vegan diets are not everyones choice, I think meat eaters would benefit from checking this site out too, from a healthy eating point of view 🙂

Freshly Made

The chunky wool I have just bought makes a lovely warm cowl. Excuse pic of me, never been photogenic but had to show cowl ‘in action’!

Its a lovely bright orange with a light grey trim made from 10% wool, 20% Alpaca and 70% Acrylic so soft and durable.

I will be making more in different colours and different style so keep tuned in. This one is £12.00 and will shortly be on sale in my Etsy shop LoopyLousCrafts 🙂

Todays Yarn

Well, having had a lot to do today Mr. M. and I decided to walk the dog by Okehampton Castle – one of our fave places – then we went for coffee and of course how can I go into town without a woolly purchase?? Already geared up for Autumn and all its glorious colours. This is a lovely chunky wool mix for scarves and hats and mittens and…….

Also managed to finish a brightly coloured facecloth out of the gorgeous Sugar’n’Cream cotton, add some colour to your bathroom 🙂

More to follow, well back to Mr. M’s bday x

A Day Off

It is my husbands 40th today and he has managed to take the day off so we are off out. I was secretly hoping he would like a trip to Bude – there is a fab Alpaca wool shop by the canal – http://www.coastalyarns.co.uk/ – but I think he wants to go to Tavistock, which is great too as there is a lovely fabric shop (alas, closing down but might find a bargain!). There is also the best pasty shop I know so lets go!!

Will get some pics up of my latest craft – facecloths- later on x
