A Spring In My Step

I know, I have been a bit quiet, sorry! After a month of debating whether or not to continue my crocheting, I have decided to keep going! Though my Etsy shop has not yet taken off, I am working on it getting noticed more, then hopefully get some sales.

I have a new pattern to try out for baby shoes, which I am quite excited about. After doing some research, I think these will be a winner, though got a way to go yet. I have to make them first!

As Spring is nearly upon us, I need to get hooking some suitable wares. Trouble is, its also going to get really busy with work, our gardening rota is already burting at the seams. Need to get more organised and use my time more efficiently, neither of those things come naturally to me!

Keep looking at my shop Here , am adding more each week, just finished this small, chunky blanket, can be used as a cot/pram blanket or as a lap blanket….

Write It Down!

That is a note to self! I am making a small granny square blanket and have used patterns from two different sources to make up each square. I wrote down the main pattern but hadn’t written the edging one. After edging 3 or 4 squares, I realised I was using the wrong stitch! Crochet is easy to undo, fortunately!

I have a habit of forgetting things and keep saying to myself, write it down….but I forget to! There is no hope. My husband is a great one for writing lists but I am not, even if I do, I forget where I put it. If its really important, I will put pen to hand, guaranteed to see that 🙂

One thing I haven’t forgotten is that my latest purchase is on its way, a selection of linen thread from Lithuania. Haven’t treated myself for a while and am very much looking forward to the postie delivering my parcel. Took me a while to source it. I did find a lovely shop called A Yarn Story , well worth a look, they sell some beauitful yarns though at the time they had run out of the colours I wanted. I eventually found some on good old Etsy. I’m going to make some brooches with this fine thread, like the one I showed you last month.

Until that arrives, I will continue with the blanket, hopefully getting it finished next week then it will be for sale in my Etsy shop.

Have a lovey weekend 🙂

Finished :)

Well, very nearly finished….

I could make this blanket bigger but have run out of yarn! It has been discontinued and can only find a few odd balls online. This is the first large blanket I have made and I hate to think how much money I have spent on yarn for it! Still, it is for me so it’s ok. Well, I say it’s for me but it will be taken by at least one of the cats am sure. Have just got emough yarn left to hook a double crochet stitch edging.

I am now working on a summer shawl which may be suitable for a wedding as the yarn is light and has pretty sparkly sequins. Though the weather is awful today, Spring is just around the corner and I am trying to get ahead with my crochet, so its all about lightweight summer hooking. Pics to follow….
