Its been a very busy few weeks for me, so posts have been thin on the ground. I have been trying to get pieces finished and off to some local shops pre Xmas. I have now done as much as I can as there is no more free time, so I can relax a little and get back into blogging 🙂
If you are out and about in mid Devon, check out the following shops that have some of my work for sale. Sew Vintage is on the High Street in North Tawton and sells many pretty things for us ladies, I am also working in there a few hours up to Xmas to help out the owner Liz. We will bo open late (til 8pm) tomorrow night. There is no website yet – the shop is quite new and Liz hasn’t had time! There is another new shop next to the museum in Okehampton – http://theartfulrogers.co.uk/index.html – selling hand crafted goods, including some of my cowls and mitts, pottery, jewellery etc, lots of gift ideas. Also, my pal Jodi has taken on some crochet at her saddle shop in Hatherleigh – http://www.hoopersequestrian.co.uk/ – she is a master saddler and takes on leather repairs too. Please pop in and support our local shops, or one day we will find there is only Amazon and Tesco left!!
Remember I amazed myself with my finger crocheting? Heres a pic of the cowl I made. Excuse poor pic, only just took it and its pretty dark!
I am trying to squeeze in one last project, a hat for my friends son but as we are seeing them in 2 days and I have to work, I don’t think I’m going to get it done so I think I will have to pop down the local toy shop.
Will be checking in pre Xmas so pop over 🙂
I shall be selling my creations at the Belstone Bazaar next Sunday. There are plenty of stocking fillers to choose from – brooches, hairgrips, necklaces, facecloths plus a few larger items including scarves and mittens. There will be lots of other stalls too, something for everyone! Come and buy something handmade 🙂
Thank you to all the lovely customers who bought my wares at the vintage and makers market yesterday, it has done wonders for my self esteem!! Im positvely glowing 🙂
I now have to make lots more!
I may be at the flea market in South Molton in a couple of weeks so watch this space. Thing is I have a holiday comin up – off to pretty Mousehole in Cornwall – only a week but thats precious crochet time, still I can take it with me 🙂
Here she is, the model for my craft fair tomorrow. She nearly as old as me but hasn’t changed a bit 😉 wish she would tell me her secret!
All I had to do was brush her hair (no signs of grey) and give her face a scrub. Unfortunately her 70s makeup has long since dried out or lost, but these days she prefers to be looking more natural.
Lets hope she brings me luck 🙂
This is a super chunky cowl with two lovely big buttons. Had to use a 12mm hook for this one! Its a great yarn to work with, fabulously bright colours. I found the yarn in Totnes, started crocheting with it in Exmouth and finished it this morning at home. A well travelled piece!
On sale for £15.00, available at the Vintage and Makers Market in South Molton this Saturday (20th). If not sold there, you will find it in my Etsy shop very soon here – Loopy Lous Crafts
The chunky wool I have just bought makes a lovely warm cowl. Excuse pic of me, never been photogenic but had to show cowl ‘in action’!
Its a lovely bright orange with a light grey trim made from 10% wool, 20% Alpaca and 70% Acrylic so soft and durable.
I will be making more in different colours and different style so keep tuned in. This one is £12.00 and will shortly be on sale in my Etsy shop LoopyLousCrafts 🙂
