Spring has Sprung

It’s another beautiful sunny day and I’ve spent the morning in Sew Vintage. The weather certainly makes a difference to the mornings takings, a rather busy Saturday!

Supporting local business is so important or we shall end up with nothing but those awful shopping malls. Hmm, think I may have mentioned this before!!

I’ve taken a few pics of the shop, there is nothing online yet, but am working on it.

As you can see, there are many pretty things to buy, including lovely soaps from my friend atΒ http://thedartmoorsoapco.co.uk

Don’t forget Mothers Day 15th March. Pop in the shop and buy something lovely for your mum.

This ‘n’ That

Its been a very busy few weeks for me, so posts have been thin on the ground. I have been trying to get pieces finished and off to some local shops pre Xmas. I have now done as much as I can as there is no more free time, so I can relax a little and get back into blogging πŸ™‚

If you are out and about in mid Devon, check out the following shops that have some of my work for sale. Sew Vintage is on the High Street in North Tawton and sells many pretty things for us ladies, I am also working in there a few hours up to Xmas to help out the owner Liz. We will bo open late (til 8pm) tomorrow night. There is no website yet – the shop is quite new and Liz hasn’t had time! There is another new shop next to the museum in Okehampton – http://theartfulrogers.co.uk/index.html – selling hand crafted goods, including some of my cowls and mitts, pottery, jewellery etc, lots of gift ideas. Also, my pal Jodi has taken on some crochet at her saddle shop in Hatherleigh – http://www.hoopersequestrian.co.uk/ – she is a master saddler and takes on leather repairs too. Please pop in and support our local shops, or one day we will find there is only Amazon and Tesco left!!

Remember I amazed myself with my finger crocheting? Heres a pic of the cowl I made. Excuse poor pic, only just took it and its pretty dark!

I am trying to squeeze in one last project, a hat for my friends son but as we are seeing them in 2 days and I have to work, I don’t think I’m going to get it done so I think I will have to pop down the local toy shop.

Will be checking in pre Xmas so pop over πŸ™‚

Where can I buy some extra hours??

I have so much crochet to do but so little time! Yesterday 2 of my cowls sold in my local shop and I have an order for some mitts! I also posted a crochet necklace to the US, a purchase from my Etsy shop. Along with various orders from friends and 2 craft fairs imminent, I really could do with a few more hours in the day. I also have a ‘real’ job which has to take priority, it pays the bills afterall.

My hobby is starting to make a tiny bit of money πŸ™‚ which is really satisfying and now I don’t feel too guilty when I buy yet more yarn. My husband is also v pleased that all this wool around the house is actually worth having.Hmmm, wool does seem to be present in every room in the house! No matter how hard I try, there is always evidence of my crafting. I just can’t sem to keep things tidy. The basement, where my stash is, looks like it has been yarn bombed!!

If any of you readers have checked out my etsy shop, I will by listing more stock hopefully over the weekend. Now I must get on with some paperwork…..
